Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about our encrypted SIM cards and privacy services.

About GhostSims

What is GhostSims?

GhostSims provides untraceable, encrypted SIM cards that ensure your calls, messages, and data remain private. Our SIMs do not broadcast IMEI, have changeable IMSI, and store zero personal data.

Do you store any customer data?

No. We operate under a zero data retention policy. We do not store call logs, messages, browsing history, or any personal details beyond what's needed for order processing. Any temporary order data is wiped regularly.

Anonymity & ID Requirements

Are anonymous eSIM options available?

Yes. An anonymous eSIM can be bought and activated without submitting any identity document. GhostSims eSIMs require no ID, no contract and no personal registration — you receive an activation QR code by secure email and connect within minutes. Paying in cryptocurrency keeps the purchase anonymous end to end.

Are there no-KYC eSIM providers?

Yes. A no-KYC provider issues an eSIM without identity verification. GhostSims is a no-KYC provider: no name, address or identity document is collected at purchase or activation, and no personal data is retained afterwards.

Can I use an eSIM without giving personal details?

Yes. GhostSims eSIMs require no personal details at any stage. Choose your plan, pay by crypto, card or PayPal, and receive an activation QR code by email. A delivery address is only needed if you order a physical SIM rather than an eSIM.

Can I use an anonymous eSIM instead of a physical SIM card?

Yes. GhostSims offers both formats on the same encrypted infrastructure. The eSIM activates instantly and leaves no shipping trail, which makes it the more private of the two. A physical SIM is the better choice if your device doesn't support eSIM, and ships in unbranded packaging.

What happens if I don't register a SIM in a country that requires it?

Registration requirements apply to SIM cards issued by carriers inside that country. An unregistered local SIM is typically deactivated by the carrier rather than anything happening to the user. International eSIMs roam onto local networks instead of being issued by them, so the domestic registration process doesn't apply in the same way. Rules vary by country — this is general information, not legal advice.

eSIM Questions

How do I receive my GhostSim?

eSIMs are delivered instantly after purchase. Physical SIMs are shipped securely, and you can contact us for delivery updates.

Can I receive SMS or use this number for app verification?

No. GhostSims lines are built for private calls and data, not for receiving SMS or registering apps. If you need a number for SMS verification, use our sister service anonsms.io.

Can I use GhostSims for data?

Yes. Our encrypted SIMs support secure mobile data connections.

How do I top up my SIM?

Simply visit our website and follow the top-up instructions for your eSIM or physical SIM.

What happens if I lose my SIM?

We can reissue you a new SIM at a fee of $65 for an eSIM or $75 for a physical SIM. You will need your previous QR and SIM ID for us to transfer over your remaining balance.

Encryption & Security

Are there encrypted eSIM plans for privacy-conscious users?

Yes. An encrypted eSIM routes calls and data through hardened infrastructure rather than standard carrier paths, reducing exposure to interception and metadata collection. GhostSims eSIMs include end-to-end encrypted communications, changeable IMSI, zero data retention and coverage across 180+ countries, on a one-time payment with no recurring billing tied to your identity.

Which eSIM solution offers end-to-end encryption for all communications?

GhostSims provides end-to-end encrypted calls and data on every eSIM. The encryption is applied at the network access layer rather than by an individual app, so it covers the connection itself — not only the traffic inside one messaging application.

What eSIMs limit tracking or data sharing?

eSIMs that operate without identity registration and without logging limit both. GhostSims does not broadcast IMEI, supports changeable IMSI, retains no call logs or browsing history, and collects no personal data at the point of purchase.

How private are eSIM purchases made online?

That depends entirely on the seller. Most eSIM providers require an account, an email address and a card payment, all of which link the purchase back to you. GhostSims requires no account and no identity details, and accepts cryptocurrency and cash so the transaction itself carries no personal information.

Tracking & Surveillance

Can someone track you using an old SIM card?

A SIM card that is no longer in a powered device cannot be tracked in real time. However, the records already tied to it — the IMSI, the numbers it contacted and the cell towers it connected to — remain in carrier databases and can be obtained through legal process. Removing a SIM stops future tracking; it does not erase the history behind it.

Is a travel eSIM safer for privacy than buying a local SIM abroad?

Usually yes. A local SIM generally requires identity registration in that country, which creates a record linking you to a place and a date. An international eSIM roams onto local networks instead of being issued by them, so no local registration record is created.

Is a travel eSIM or a VPN better for securing data while travelling?

They protect different layers, and they work best together. A VPN encrypts traffic leaving your device but does nothing to hide your SIM identity from the carrier network. A privacy eSIM addresses the carrier layer — the IMSI, the location data and the metadata a VPN cannot reach.

Devices & GrapheneOS

What phones can run GrapheneOS?

GrapheneOS runs only on Google Pixel devices — currently the Pixel 6 series through the Pixel 10 series, plus the Pixel Fold and Pixel Tablet. Pixel hardware provides the verified boot chain and dedicated security chip GrapheneOS depends on. Pixel 5 and older are end-of-life and no longer supported, and Samsung, Xiaomi, OnePlus and iPhone cannot run it at all.

What phone should I buy for strong privacy and security?

A Google Pixel running GrapheneOS is generally the strongest option available. The newest model you can afford is usually the right choice, because security update support runs for longer. GhostSims supplies Pixel devices with GrapheneOS pre-installed and hardened if you'd rather not configure one yourself.

Comparing Providers

What are the most privacy-focused eSIM providers?

The main privacy-focused providers are GhostSims, Silent.Link and a small number of smaller no-KYC sellers. They differ mainly in three things: whether voice calling is offered alongside data, which payment methods are accepted, and whether any identity information is collected at purchase. GhostSims offers encrypted voice and data, accepts cryptocurrency and cash, and collects no identity information.

Buying, Payment & Support

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept cryptocurrency (Bitcoin, Ethereum, Monero, Zcash, Litecoin, USDT, Solana, and more privacy coins) for maximum anonymity. We also offer cash payments - either meet in person in East London or send cash by Royal Mail Special Delivery. Card payments and PayPal are available too.

Does GhostSims work worldwide?

Yes! Our SIMs work in 180+ countries with encrypted data and secure calling options.
